English Language Programs
ESL Group and Class
The following programs are held at the Lorna Sundberg International Center, 21 University Circle, and open to English learners at UVA and in the local Charlottesville community.
English Conversation Group
Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30pm, check link for schedule
Participants gather weekly for informal conversation at the International Center. The group leader(s) create discussion topics and activities to help participants practice speaking English. This is an opportunity to make friends, improve English skills, and share cultures. Led by volunteers, no fee is required.
English Book Group

The group meets weekly at the International Center and participants are welcome to join in as their schedule allows. Participants read works by U.S. authors that provide an opportunity to learn about and discuss U.S. culture and society. This is an informal opportunity to improve English reading skills and your understanding of the English language. Led by volunteers, no fee is required.
